Adverse effects of soft drinks

Health-Net: High levels of sugar and caffeine followed by excessive amount of calories is what happens to your body if you frequently eat soda. Unfortunately, many people who like soft drinks is not aware of it.

Most of us think are common to consume caffeine while taking medication or not a problem if you gain weight after consuming drinks with sweeteners. However, long-term impact when you consume soft drinks regularly certainly can not be ignored.

Obesity
According to research Nurse's Health Study, which monitors the health of 90,000 women for eight years, drink soda every day of the week will add 4.5 pounds of body weight for four years.

Diabetes
Results Nurses Health Study revealed that women who said they drank one or more servings of soft drinks or sweetened fruit drinks per day, more than twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes during the study carried out than those who rarely consume these beverages.

Heart disease
According to a study published in 2007 in the journal Circulation of the American Heart Association, research subjects who drink soda every day for four years had a 25 percent chance to develop high blood sugar levels. They also probably 32 percent more likely to develop levels of cholesterol is lower.

Nurse Health Study also found that women who drank more than two sweet drinks each day have a 40 percent higher risk of heart attack or death from heart disease than those who rarely drank sweet drinks.

Effect was the same diet soda
Several studies, including a 2007 study published in the journal Circulation, showed that diet soda also has some similar effects on health such as regular soda, even though this product claims to contain no or very little sugar.
