Health-Net: The new study conducted by a group of researchers in the United States and Scandinavia showed that the lifting of the tonsils and appendix before the age of 20 years can make a person more at risk of premature heart disease.

In this study, investigators followed every Swedish citizen who has committed the appointment of the tonsils and appendix. Total operating tonsils and appendix were included in this study was estimated around 80,000 procedures.

The results of this study known to man who raised the tonsils before age 20 years had a risk of 44 percent more likely to have heart attacks than those who do not perform tonsils and appendix surgery. While in the appendix removed before age 20 years, the risk is increased by 33 percent.

This indicates that both these organs have a function for the body. When the organ is removed it can reduce the production of immunoglobulin antibodies in the body that function to find and destroy harmful bacteria and viruses.

The researchers incorporated in this study revealed that harmful bacteria and viruses are believed to play a role in disturbing the heart health, as quoted from Menshealth on Tuesday June 6, 2011.

Meanwhile, people who perform the operation after 20 years of age not seen an increase in heart risk. This indicates that these organs play a major role in the immune system during childhood and adolescence.

Even so expected to not panic first, because the number of heart attack early in this research is still low, Than 54,000 surgical tonsils removal of the appendix and 27,000 tonsillectomy, only 633 related heart attacks.

For that you should consult in advance if you have inflammation of the tonsils or appendix, if it can be harmful to the body or not. And still keep and care for the heart to stay healthy at any age.

The tonsils are a part of the lymph tissue located on either side of the back of the throat. This will have enlarged tonsils or inflamed when an infection occurs either by bacteria or viruses. But usually the tonsils will be back into shape after the infection ends.

Tonsillitis can be caused by a viral infection (Coxsackie’s virus, adenovirus or Epstein-Barr virus), or it could be by the bacteria that most of Group a Streptococcus.

Meanwhile, the appendix is a thin pocket-sized 2 to 4 inches (5-10 cm) located near the intersection of large and small intestine. However, the actual function is still a debate in the medical community.

Regardless of whether or not the function of the appendix, an organ is known to not cause any impact if removed or lifted from the human body. However, the appendix can actually harm health when experiencing inflammation.

But by looking at the impact of the loss of the tonsils and the appendix to the risk of heart shows that both these organs also have important functions for the body.
